Laverna was predeceased by her loving husband, Arvin Young her brothers, Duane, Freeland, Sewell and Vaughn. Laverna loved her crazy hats and glasses she was always out to get a good laugh or smile out of anyone she interacted with and was often described as the life of the party, which could have been the reason why when her and Vin met at a dance in Milbridge, it was love at first sight. She was an avid gardener and loved doing crafts. Though Laverna had many different jobs over the years, her favorite was working at the bank in Winter Harbor as a teller. Laverna was a graduate from Bangor High School in 1958.
